DISCOVER WHAT’S INFLUENCING PERFORMANCE

Performance Readiness Assessment

Performance Readiness Assessment is about forecasting the likelihood of achieving desired results based on diagnosis of current performance conditions and identifying actions to close gaps, adapt conditions, and fortify ability to deliver.

Performance Readiness is multifaceted. Organization and team performance is affected by external and internal factors or ‘influences.’ External influences such as market/industry landscape, political/economic climate, competitors and trends; and Internal influences such as expectations, talent, culture, structure, process, tools, technology.

This analysis requires insights about those influences – not simply dashboards, data, or information — insights that are gained through honest and shrewd evaluation. Honesty can be painful, it can expose issues and insecurities. Honesty can also be liberating and the catalyst for transformation. It’s this complex reality that requires the rigor of quantitative and qualitative ‘performance analysis tradecraft’ to inform and create the necessary conditions to perform and the optimal plan to execute.

PDG’s ‘Performance Analysis Tradecraft’ integrates analytic best practices and disciplines found in the fields of national security and intelligence, commercial business intelligence, and Human Performance Improvement (HPI) into a comprehensive suite of assessments, diagnostics, and evaluations to examine internal and external performance influences that provide critical and actionable insights to drive results.

Influence Analysis

Influence Analysis is about examining the primary influences (cause) of performance and their impact (effect) on successful achievement of outcomes with the purpose of implementing effective interventions to close gaps, remove barriers, and enable optimal results.

There are influences that affect the ability of an organization or team to perform and deliver results. Some influences can be controlled and shaped, while others can only be anticipated and mitigated for. Misinterpretation and misdiagnosis of performance problems and influences is one of the costliest mistakes an organization, leader, or team can make, and it’s one that is made too often, resulting in little to no impact on the problem.

The most notorious and repeated misdiagnosis organizations make shows up as – “we need training” – which is generally the most expensive performance intervention, it is prescribed/requested as a performance solution 90% of the time, and it is the right performance solution only15% of the time – this is profound. To avoid making costly diagnosis errors, stop reacting to symptoms, relying on assumptions, and applying quick fixes. Performance problems and cures cannot be left to assumption or impulse, they must be intentionally examined and engineered.

PDG helps organizations avoid making costly diagnosis errors and stop reacting to symptoms, relying on assumptions, and applying impulsive or quick fixes. We do this through intentionally examining performance problems and engineering appropriate cures.

Key Performer Analysis

Key performer analysis is about looking to those who repeatedly produce exceptional results for the purpose of improving those who produce standard results. We refer to this as ‘finding what’s right to fix what’s wrong.’ This analysis investigates the influences – primary drivers, facilitators, and barriers – to achieve optimal results and shares that performance ‘code’ across the organization.

Extraordinary Performers set themselves apart by their ability to translate knowledge, skills, and attitude into performance that consistently surpasses the standard and produces exceptional results in spite of barriers, roadblocks, and difficulties – stop and digest that.

Do these people sound too good to be true? Well, they’re not. They are a small 3% – 5% population within in your organization right now. They have figured out the ‘code’ to perform exceptionally well in the environment, and they have the insights to help 75% of your organization level-up their results.

PDG leverages the world-class PerformanceDNA methodology to conduct key performer analysis and unlock the potential that exists in your organization to shift the performance curve and move the needle on results. We identify, explore, and document the specific factors that enable performance excellence, create PerformX Profiles, and leverage those profiles to help develop average performers into extraordinary talent.

Development Inventories & Surveys

Development Inventories & Surveys are about leveraging the right tool at the right time to uncover (and own!) strengths, limitations, biases, and critical needs in order to overcome team challenges in service to an aspiration and desired outcomes.

Personal and team behavior assessments are tools often used in the pursuit of improvement. Results can be fun to share in a team workshop, but often lose their luster and impact when back on the job because they aren’t integrated as new habits into the ways of working. Survey fatigue is a real thing in many organizations and is often caused by choosing the wrong questions and assessments, applied to the wrong business or cultural challenges, and neglecting to translate feedback into real change.

Selecting the right assessment tool and questions based on the specific aspiration, desired outcome, or challenge and having a gameplan to immediately translate the results and insights into new and improved habits is what enables improvement and sustained value.

PDG leverages bespoke development assessments and surveys to ensure individual, team, and leader development efforts align with strategy and desired outcomes, as well as provide a foundation to drive extraordinary team dynamics, cultural results, and organizational ethos.
