A structured learning experience designed to develop leaders capable of diagnosing performance, designing effective systems, and building extraordinary teams. DG Intensives go beyond traditional training. Participants work directly on real organizational challenges while developing the capability to architect performance within their own organizations.
The Series is grounded in a set of Hard Truths about organizational performance.
Strong teams are not necessarily extraordinary teams.
Throughout the Intensives, participants examine these realities and learn how to intentionally design the conditions required for extraordinary performance. Participants may attend individual intensives or complete the full Performance Architecture Series.
Most organizations expect leaders to drive performance, yet few leaders have been formally trained to understand how performance systems actually work.
PDG Intensives develop performance literacy—the ability to diagnose performance drivers, design effective systems, and sustain extraordinary results.
Through action-learning and applied analysis, participants leave with practical frameworks, tools, and working solutions for their own organizations.
The series is organized across three capability domains. The Performance Architecture Series develops capability progressively—moving from foundational understanding to advanced practice.

The series is organized across three capability domains.
Understanding how performance systems are designed.
Foundations of Performance Architecture
Foundational concepts and frameworks for understanding how organizational performance systems function.
Architecting Team Performance Systems
Applied system design for leaders responsible for translating strategy into team-level execution.
Learning to diagnose the true drivers of performance.
Performance Analysis Tradecraft
Applied analytic methods for identifying performance influences and selecting effective interventions.
Designing the conditions required for teams to achieve extraordinary results.
Extraordinary Teams: Foundations
Assessing readiness and defining the conditions required for high-performance team outcomes.
Extraordinary Teams: Advanced Practice
Designing the leadership, conditions, and operating discipline required for teams to consistently outperform expectations.
The Performance Architecture Series is designed for both individual leaders and organizational cohorts.
Participants who complete the full series and capstone project earn the PDG Certificate in Organizational Performance Architecture.
Understanding How Performance Systems Are Designed
This Intensive provides a fundamental reset for how leaders understand, diagnose, and design organizational performance.
Most organizations attempt to manage performance through strategy changes, leadership development, or cultural initiatives. Yet performance challenges often persist because the underlying performance system was never intentionally designed.
Diagnosing the True Drivers of Organizational Performance
Many organizations attempt to solve performance challenges by applying solutions before fully understanding the underlying causes.
Performance Analysis Tradecraft introduces a structured methodology for diagnosing the conditions that produce performance outcomes.
In this intensive, participants learn how to systematically examine the internal influences shaping performance and apply analytic methods used to identify the true drivers of results.
Designing the Conditions for Team-Level Performance
This intensive focuses on the practical application of Performance Architecture at the team level.
While many leaders understand the need for improved performance, few have been trained to design the systems that actually produce it.
In this applied intensive, participants use PDG’s Performance Architecture Framework—Layers, Discipline, Habits, and Tradecraft—to design a complete performance architecture for their own team or area of responsibility.
Diagnosing the Conditions Required for Extraordinary Team Performance
Not every strong team is ready to become an extraordinary one.
Extraordinary Teams: Foundations begins with a rigorous assessment of whether a team is positioned to achieve exceptional performance outcomes.
Using PDG’s Performance Architecture principles, participants examine the leadership conditions, operating discipline, and team behaviors required for teams to consistently outperform expectations.
Activating the Conditions for Extraordinary Team Performance
Extraordinary Teams: Advanced Practice is the capstone intensive in the Performance Architecture Series.
Building on the diagnostic insights and readiness evaluation developed in Extraordinary Teams: Foundations, this intensive focuses on activating the leadership conditions, operating discipline, and team behaviors required to achieve extraordinary results.
Participants apply Performance Architecture principles directly with their teams to design and implement the systems that enable sustained high performance.
Completion of the series qualifies participants for the
PDG Performance Architecture Certificate.
Participants completing all five intensives develop the capability to:
• diagnose the drivers of performance
• design effective performance systems
• architect team-level performance conditions
• sustain high-performance environments
Applied Learning for Real Organizational Challenges
PDG Intensives utilize an action-learning model where participants apply frameworks and tools directly to real work challenges. This ensures learning translates immediately into practical application.
The Capstone Project
Participants in the Performance Architecture Series work on a real organizational challenge throughout the program.
Each intensive contributes a component to a comprehensive Organizational Performance Architecture Plan, enabling participants to apply the discipline of Performance Architecture to a real team, function, or organizational system.
Completion of the plan is required to earn the PDG Certificate in Organizational Performance Architecture.
Implementation Support
Participants receive post-session coaching and mentorship to support implementation, monitor progress, and refine their performance architecture as it is applied in their organization.
If your organization is interested in building internal capability to diagnose and design performance systems, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss how the Performance Architecture Series could support your leaders.
